    My First Double Bearded Bird!!

Got setup this morning and they started gobbling around 6 a.m. but got quite about 30 mins later. I only heard 4-5 birds but all on neighboring farms. I figured this was going to be a long day since birds were spread out and no birds roosted on our place. About 6:45 this dude hammered on a pasture ridge about 200 yards away to my right. I just gave him some yelps and purrs and he gobbled again. I see him strutting and puffed up and headed in my direction. As I'm looking around a see a hen the other side of the field headed right for him. I just knew she was cutting me off and he would be gone!!! I keep looking to my right thinking if he's headed my way at least he would poke his head out of the woods edge and take a look at my setup.... About 15 mins later I look up and he's strutting right next to my Jake decoy all puffed up and not moving... talk about appearing out of no where.... He eventually comes out of strut and I take him right around 7 a.m. Beautiful bird with a double beard and some decent hooks. What an opening morning!!! Can't wait to get back out there tomorrow!

    24lbs - 10.5" & 4" Beards - 1.25" Spurs
