My dad is visiting from out of state. Because of the distance we only see each other a few times a year I thought we could get to spend some quality time together and I would take him fishing (hopefully in the morning)He hasn't been fishing in years and I thought maybe he would enjoy it .
I have never been to Nolin before, but looking at some maps thought Briar Creek would be an easy spot for us to get to from the State Park ramp.
Any general tips or any advice about what lures or bait to use would be greatly appreciated. I don't care if we catch bass or crappie, I just would hate to get skunked.
Thanks in advance

shakey heads in green pumpkin can catch a lot of fish , not lots of keepers but fun.
Try around the mouth of the creek, both sides. Use the already mentioned baits, along with some small-med. cranks. If no luck in the creek, try coves on the main lake, there is a bunch, going up or down the lake. TR
Good call on the cranks... And shakey heads are also a great choice...
Thats the creek my LM mount came from a few years back, not a gaint but nice looking in the show case.It makes my Warren county SM look huge.

Thanks so much everyone for all of your time and help, I really appreciate it. I'm hoping we can go tomorrow afternoon/evening. I'll post a follow up with how we did.
Thanks again everyone.
We went yesterday. Had a great time, it was fun to spend that time together.
Didn't have very good luck fishing. I did get one, but that was about it. But in the end it was about us having some fun together and he had a lot of that.
I just now have to figure out how to fish these lakes. All my experience has been spent fishing natural lakes and it is so different then fishing a man made lake.
