Had some issues with my trolling motor, a Minn Kota, and thought I'd share some refrence matrerials that might help if you need parts in the future. Links are sources, but also the place to go to get parts diagrams. They also show the order the things are assembled in and the second link discusses how to decifer the serial numbers.
Parts and diagrams:
1. http://www.northlandmarine.com/MinnKotaQuickRef.htm
2. http://www.fish307.com/minnkotatroll...mentparts.aspx
This last link takes you to a Minn Kota service manual, its old, but for me it help figure out why the motor was making wierd sounds, or why it ran backwards after I reassembled it.

If anybody has a link to a newer manual or more service stuff, let's all share. Hey, if it saves us a labor bill when we fix it ourselves, it's worth it.

Yea...whoda thunk it. Polarilty baffles me. Funniest thing was how I discovered it. Was drifting with the wind at 11 pm putting out planer boards. Boards had those mini-light sticks on them. Had 4 boards out and decided to change course with the trolling motor. Kicked it on, pointed where I wanted to go, and started messing with getting a cup of coffee and doing some text messages. Looked up just in time to see the the little mini-light sticks from 2 of the planer boards passing the bow of the boat and just start to turn to run in. Talk about confused!
