Anybody got any Barren reports?
Was on barren most of last week and all day friday and saturday. Water clarity is about 4 feet but as i am typing this we have gotten a ton of rain so look for it to get stained and probably warm up to about 70 most fish are done spawning but a few are still in the backs of creeks and on chunk rock walls. My best bet would be to look for shallow water with adjacent deep water such as points and ledges and let them crankbaits fly. A couple of guys in our party caught several using this technique saturday. Bass also seem to be cruising the dirt and small rock areas around baileys point i caught two in the 4 pound range throwing a small baby bluegill 6 foot running rapala from the bank just piddling while camping saturday so id definitely say that the spawn is over and its everyones favorite time of year to throw them crankbaits. Water level is lower than normal due to the lack of rain but with the forecast calling rain for 4 out of 7 days this week expect that to rise probably 3 foot if the corps doesnt decide to **** it all out again. You will see alot of vegetation growth but it wont stay its just like the weeds and grass that you would find in a field.
