GRL tends to be a feast or famine type of lake. Finesse fishermen will excel here more than the run and gun type will.

Thinking of heading down there this weekend, and as I have never been there, I wanted to ask the experts (that's you guys). Anything about the lake I should watch out for while out ?
We'll be targeting LM's for the most part...any advice is much appreciated.
I will post a report when I return.
Thanks in advance. James

Thanks for the tip mate, I'll certainly keep that in mind.![]()
Put in at Smith Ridge @ 8 yesterday, water was pretty much clear with temps around 73 in the morning, and climbing near 80 by mid afternoon. Only boated four bass all day, with the biggest going about 3.5. All were caught on a 1/4 oz jig, one off a shallow main lake point, the rest mid lake near ledges. Had about a 3 pound brown fish come off at the boat.
Was a beautiful day to be out though, and the pleasure boaters were in full swing.
Just thought I'd let you guys know how i did on my first time there.
