Sounds like seal problems to me. I actually had one that would drift down pretty quickly, but after using it a while it quit & hasn't done it in a couple of years now.

back with more questions on my 26 year old boat that returned home to me. the fellow that had it while it was gone says he had new trim motor put on. it works fine but will drift down in a matter of minutes even when running. checked the manual bleed valve and fluid level and all are ok. anything else to check before i loss my arse at a dealer? also the trim indicator only wants to register from half up to the upper limits. tried turning the sender on motor and it made no difference.

If not a seal, make sure that the system was bled correctly and that there is no air in it.back with more questions on my 26 year old boat that returned home to me. the fellow that had it while it was gone says he had new trim motor put on. it works fine but will drift down in a matter of minutes even when running. checked the manual bleed valve and fluid level and all are ok. anything else to check before i loss my arse at a dealer? also the trim indicator only wants to register from half up to the upper limits. tried turning the sender on motor and it made no difference.
