    4th of July Safety

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July and remind you to stay safe, especially if you and your family are around water. There has already been four drownings, since Sunday, that we know of. One was the son of a guy my husband worked with for over 15 years. He had turned 19 years old the day before he drowned. He was cliff diving with friends in a restricted area; dove from about a 90-100 ft height. When he hit the water he landed on his side, went down, and never came up. Rescue divers found him 30-40 ft. deep caught up under a rock. There are 2 others, a river drowning and one from a small boat that was overloaded with 5 people and it overturned. One of the guys who works for me was at the Gulf Shores beach Sunday and saw a little 4 year-old girl get caught in riptide and drown. He said there were so many people on the beach it looked like standing room only.

IMO, the holiday and extreme heat here has caused more people to go to the water.

Everyone enjoy your holiday but please stay safe.

Its so dry here that they banned fireworks for personal use in Fayette county. For sure the water sounds like a good place to go! Be safe Bug!
