I have not been recently, but the bass fishing was pretty good about three weeks ago.

Even though I could have glanced over it, I havent noticed a single thread posted this summer about any Lake Reba information. I was wondering if anyone has dropped a line there recently and can tell me if its worth the short trip there from Lexington with my Kayak? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to make the drive, unload all my gear, and get on the lake just to find that the fishing has been off for the past couple weeks, when I could have gone elsewhere.
Thanks!

Haven't fished it in a couple months but the grass is the thickest I have ever seen. It's crazy about half way back. You could get out of your boat and walk across it.
The sunnier the better at Reba. Puts em in the grass. Have had good success lately with jigs and plastic. Good numbers and quality fish. It's close and cheap...Good luckEven though I could have glanced over it, I havent noticed a single thread posted this summer about any Lake Reba information. I was there yesterday evening. I fished for about 2.5 hours. It seemed like the fish were on a feeding frenzy for about 30 minutes right at dark, then they shut off. I caught 7 and lost a couple and missed a couple in a real short time. I was using a white Yum Dinger. I had never tried all white so I was just messing around to see what the fish thought about it.
Ahh, Lake Reba. One of my favorite fishing memories.
It was about 1974, I was 12 and sitting in the middle of a jon boat while my Dad and oldest brother fished for bass. Dad throws a frog-pattern Hula Popper alongside this laydown and kerplunks it back to the boat, right past me. The lure is right in front of me when I see this HUGE bass come up from the depths under the laydown. The water is so clear I can see her gills flare when she's still a foot or more away from the bait. I scream and point at it, and freak my Dad out so much he almost pulled the Hula Popper away from her. But he hooked her up, and kept her from getting back in the laydown. The fish was probably 6 lbs. but seemed like a giant to me.
Every time I use a popper on top I see that mental picture of those huge, red gills flaring to **** that lure in.
