    Fishing with Onemorecast56

I always have fun when Onemorecast56 is on my boat. I defer to his expert knowledge of the river and let him drive my boat and take charge. Plus the fact that I'm lazy and I'd just as soon have him work the trolling motor.

I asked him if he liked to play pic-up-sticks when he was a kid. He's got 6 rods on the front of the boat, all pointing in different directions ready to fall overboard. He'll pick up one that is under three others but he hasn't lost a rod yet. Remarkable.

Patience? He has none. We are constantly moving to new spots as he really doesn't "fish", he "hunts". He has never met a stranger. That man will start a conversation with a big head carp if it will listen to him gab. But that's what I like about him.

When we recovered the boat the other evening, there was a pick up truck parked just to the side of the ramp, but still on the ramp. Typical ramp fishermen. They weren't really in my way and when I got out of the boat to go get the trailer, I recognized one of the fisherman. I stopped for just a moment to chat and went on and retrieved my truck. After I had backed down the ramp, there was Doug chatting with these guys as if they were long lost pals. As is typical for Doug, he gave them the skipjacks that we had caught earlier.

If any of you ever get a chance to fish with Onemorecast56,jump on it. He'll teach you a thing or two and he's a lot of fun to have on board.

I met Doug and went fishing with him, he is a friendly guy. I did like Tyme, Doug did the driving and ran the trolling motor. all we caught was a Gar, but he showed me a couple of Chucks deeper holes, were his big blue pets stay. and a good spot for picking up some fresh bait. I don't get to fish there to often, but I really enjoy it when I do.

I just have to reply to this post,,Tyme is about right,,I`ve never met a stranger,,strange yes,,stranger no but thats just me,always friendly unless you cut me off in my fishing spot then I might lobb a bait at you! But i do have my rods thrown all over the front deck,,when you 4 or 5 different baits tied on, you never know when you might need a different bait quick. And yes I don`t sit still for long,,why sit in the same spot for a long time if the fish arenT there, I liked the way Tyme said it, that I hunt for fish. Never thought about it that way but thats true. I can usely find fish sooner or later. But I love fishing with Tyme,,he`s alot of fun to be out with,,always singing and making up songs about me and the river. But I like fishing with alot of different people,,trading Ideas, teaching about the river, the where and whys of the river and it`s currents. Plus always a great time when Riverrat and Mark Hall are down there,,but I`ve met alot of nice folk on the river,,miss being down there 3-5 times aweek,,....Oh waterdog101,,hey I want to take you again,,we had a off day that day,,I enjoyed your company,,,
