Obama has got to be grinning today

Christmas just came early, in the form of Todd Akin. Nobody is taking about "You didn't build that," it's all about "legitimate rape," and how Akin and Paul Ryan were co-sponsors of legislation that originally called for re-defining rape as "forcible rape." What an absolute DOLT this guy is! And what a GIFT he is handing to the Democrats, by refusing to bow out of the Senate race in Missouri! No self-respecting woman is going to vote for him now.

    he said, stick with it

Perfect example of someone telling some one how to live. How many "right to lifers" are against capitol punishment? Guess I'm just a liberal. but if churches are that against abortion, How many churces have "adopted" out of wed lock unwanted children?God gave me the right to make my own decisions, and my parents taught me to bear the consequences for my decisions. That was passed to my children

The guy's initial comment was boneheaded...at least he sacked-up and said it was boneheaded. I'll bet he aspires to be like some of you guys, who have never said something totally retarded in public, nary even made a dipstick post on a Fishin.com Off Topic Forum. LMAO

Is the definition of "legitimate rape" "One that is not committed by an illegal alien".

What a stupid and mindless and insensitive selection of words. For that reason I question the guy's ability to lead others and see his comments as a reflection on his judgement. I watched the CNN clip of his comments and teh way he made them. ust plain careless.

I do think every person has the right make decisions about their own body. I think anyone who is intentionally victimized and damaged, has the right to pursue action to make themselves whole again. Understanding the right to life view, I personally do not believe any person should not have the right to take action to correct injustices done against them. Sending a rapist to jail, does not make the victim whole again, or help them to regain the quality of their life after the attack. No one should have to live with the results of an attack.

I still haven't been able to wrap my mind around "legitimate rape" and "forcible rape." I thought all rapes were forcible or they wouldn't be rape. When was rape ever legal (legitimate)? Any intelligent man knows that if a woman says "No" to sex, then it's time to back off and leave her alone; she is not his property. I honestly believe that all those politicians need to give much thought to what they are going to say before they speak. Too many of them are shooting off their mouth before they put their brain into gear.

To kygorski, I am one of those "right to lifers" and adopted one of those little angels who was conceived out of wedlock. My church aids girls who get pregnant out of wedlock, helps to pay for their prenatal care if needed, and supports their decisions to either keep the baby or place it for adoption. We haven't had but a very few girls who have gotten pregnant so we don't have an orphanage but do help to support one so the babies will be well protected and cared for.
