I know that you mentioned the gar recipes in jest, but there are many recipes for gar out there. Bass pro has some in its outdoor library. Reports I have read say their skin is so tough that people use tin snips to cut the skin along the back bone so that they can be cleaned. Just Google gar recipes.




Not just one or two, either. There had to have been a bunch of them, as many bites as I got. I did manage to finally catch one that was about 3 feet long or so.
