No fishing pitman creek???

How can Conley bottom and now pitman creek stop fisherman from fishing in the marina areas? I know there is a law in place. Which I do not agree with. Just don't think it's right to regulate public waters just to satisfy the complaints of houseboat owners. If you can't fish within 150 feet of a houseboat. You should not be able to "boat" within 150 feet of a fisherman. I also know that there is 100's of miles of lake to fish but the marinas provide stucture and habitat that the rest of the lake does not provide. I can admit I don't like it because it takes away some good fishing. But I also don't like the way public water can be regulated. I fish lakes in Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and north Carolina. Not one of them has regulations like this that I am aware of. Lake Cumberland marinas seem to be geared toward the pleasure boater and not any toward the fisherman. Just wish there was more appreciation for how much the fisherman contributes to the local economy not just the pleasure boater. All the other lakes I go to I am very welcomed at marinas. One last point I have a pleasure boat also. If I pull into Conley to get gas I get smiles and friendly service, if I pull up in my bass boat I get looked at like i am going to steal something. Just my rant for the year. Nuff said.

I have flipped and fished Grider slips for years and never had a word said to me. Now I skip the ones with boats in them and only hit the open slips. I do agree that if someone wants to stop people from flippin and banging lures off something very expensive that it is the right thing. However large distances away should not be an issue. I've seen guys banging 1/2 ounce jigs off of people's boats without any regard what so ever. If it was my boat they were doing that to, I would not be happy at all.

As usual its Knuckle heads that eventually ruin things for responsible people, just my 2 cents..

Google who owns the waters. I don't think based on that they can limit you from fishing that area. I have read case law from the supreme court and if it is a navigable water way I don't think they can keep you out. I have not been able to find it but there is a law out of Miami Fl. out of the supreme court that speaks to this.

Did something change or happen in Pitman recently? I fished Boat club area in the spring with no problem but haven't been back since.

It's posted on there dock now. Friend of mine was told he could no longer fish there. Same rules as Conley.
