OK ... so you need a Trout Stamp to "keep" the trout from Cedar Creek >> and you're encouraged to keep them, since they'll likely die upon release >> but we all know that most people fishing there, won't fish for them &/or keep them, if it means buying the stamp .... soooo, what's the point in adding them to an already overfished & overpopulated lake ??
If they're not likely to survive the Summer water temps ... why put the extra restrictions on them (stamp & creel limit) ??
If you do not have to have a trout stamp to harvest the trout from a FINS lake ... (or do you ??) ... then why not adopt the same rule for the Cedar Creek trout ?? Do they really think enough "legal" trout harvesting is going to take 14,000 of these fish out by Summer of 2013 ??
I don't mean to diss the trout stocking idea ... I'm just wondering out loud, as to why (if I wanted to catch trout to eat) I would travel 1hr each way to fish for them at Cedar Creek, when I can go to a FINS lake (Jacobson Park) that's only minutes away ?
And, does anyone else feel like this CC trout stocking may have a ulterior motive ... as in feeding the Bass to greater size/weights (as in the California lakes) ?? LOL !!! (or am I overthinking this whole thing ??)
... pappy
