    Cattle's Position Indicates Fishing Siccess?

I had to run an errond this morning which took me on a road past (at least) three differenct cattle pastures in Hardin County. I hadn't really paid any attention until I was on my way back home, but then I noticed that everywhere there was cattle, most of them were sitting/laying in the grass and the few that were standing just seemed to be standing and not moving at all. Even though I am not a "farm boy" I know that the weather has a lot to do with how animals act, as it does with people and fish.

This got me to thinking that over the years that I have been fishing in Kentucky, I have heard and read a bunch of stories/explanations/reasons/etc. and folkore about how to tell if the fishing will be good or bad by observing callle in the fields. I have never really thought about this because I was usually on my way to a lake when I noticed any cattle and I would have gone fising even if the cattle sign indicated that the fishing was bad, Kind of the same as I may make note of the Baremetric Pressure but if I want to go fishing, I am going fishing no matter what.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if other people had heardd these stories and if so have you every found them to be true of just fish stories? I would like to hear any observations along this lines.

    Cattles Postion Indicating Fish Success

Yep, I watch this all the time, and for me its about 80% accurate, I think. But I have had days the dang cows where running in a field and never caught a fish. I got a place on CC that if I see a Muskrat I know I will catch good fish in that area.

On the way to Cumberland once, I asked this question to my brother-in-law, a lifetime farmer:

Me: "Hey, almost every cow we've seen has been lying down. What does that mean"?
    Bro-in-law: "They're tired."

Live stock and wild animals do have a way of knowing what is going on. One very good example is when that Tsunami hit back a few years ago (not Japans) but it was another one that hit two or three countries at the same time. They said all the wild life went to high country before it hit so they must have know before it hit. I have a few cows and I remember one year there was some bad weather coming in and I noticed everyone of them were standing in the corner of the fence and they were standing close together and their backs to the wind. Even though we did not get the bad storms best I remember but they were prepared for it just like they knew it was going to hit. Now, if they know something about the fishing I am yet to figure them out on it and I would sure like to know cause I could use all the help I can get there.
