Question... just put in for Thanksgiving week vacation and was wondering if you were to take a trip at that time, where would it be? my preferances are Bass, Crappie or Striper but my Striper equipment and knowlege are weak. Saturday to Wednesday and home for Turkey day. Thanks, Tech

Lower end of Cumberland.
We go to Norris Lake in TN every year the day before Thanksgiving. Catch some nice smallmouth and largemouth during the day on willow-leaf spinnerbaits and catch even better fish after dark jigging 1/2 oz. spinner baits with big colorado blades.
I do a smallmouth trip to Dale Hollow the weekend after Thanksgiving. Been doing it for 10 years or so.Question... just put in for Thanksgiving week vacation and was wondering if you were to take a trip at that time, where would it be? my preferances are Bass, Crappie or Striper but my Striper equipment and knowlege are weak. It is a GREAT time to start chasing smallies. Sometimes the fly is on, sometimes, the jig, sometimes, the whirlee bee, sometimes, the tail spinner, sometimes the blade bait........
ALL TIMES......I have a great time.

If the temps are in mid 50's then float and fly early and late.
I've been doing that trip for 10 years over thanksgiving.
Stop in The One Stop in Celina.........tell them you've never fished it this time of year. LOTS of folks there will be willing to help.
Head to http://www.smalljaw.com/forum/default.asp It is dedicated to smallie fishing....and covers dale quite a bit.

Pickwick Lake in S. Tenn. and N. Alabama. Can't go wrong there at any time of the year.
