Does anyone know how many of these things exist? I know churches, charitys, and some hospitals, do. But this morning listening to NPR[i know its a left wing pinko tree hugging welfare types], but at least it isn't country music noise, and bible scores like luke 24 matthew 16 and like that.It mentioned of all things the NFL Didn't the NFL just negotiate a 100 + million contract with the broadcasters? They mentioned another one, but this time my dawg was ready to poop in the trruck, so we went on a grass and leaf sniffing tour.
Exempt from what tax? There are many organizations that are exempt from state income tax and property tax, although some make payments in lieu of tax. Those you mentioned and also many bank are basically exempt from state income tax. As far as exempt from Kentucky sales tax there are lots of them out there and many that you would not think about. City, county, and state governments, little leagues, booster clubs, just anything connected with schools including colleges and universities, hospitals as mentioned, chartable organizations, some utilities companies, many fire departments, anything connected with a church, civic organizations, Boy Scouts, and many many others. You did not mention that in Kentucky food is tax exempt, prescriptions medicines, tomb stones, farm equipment, many items used in the thoroughbred industry, many supplies used in manufacturing, much new equipment used in manufacturing, and there are many other exemptions in Kentucky sales tax law. Politicians traditionally have been happy to pass new exemptions for special interest groups and industries. Then they wonder why the state does not have as much money coming in as it used to. Thank your state politicians.
