    Interesting election result maps

I came across these maps and found them interesting, thought others might as well.

This is the normal election map we are used to seeing:

    statemap1024.png

This next map shows the states resized based on their populations:

In this map the states are resized based on the electoral votes:

First, thanks to SLP for posting the info. In my opinion, the receding red, advance of the blue is a direct result of Pub Right Wing extremest and Tea Party zionist influence on the Pub party. They have done a good job of turning voters over to the Dems. Going to be a while before I can consider voting for a Pub, lease not until I see them present a FIRM PARTY PLATFORM, so's I know's what I'm voting for.

    Yes, I voted for Bama!!

Not a person on here who would have guessed any other way! I'll disagree again on why he won....he won because his team runs a fantastic campaign plus he as good as Hitler was with giving speeches to make folks tingle inside....of course getting the most votes helps a person win.
On the bright side of him winning...now we all get to see what he is made of. The blame game is over.....he will either prove to be the biggest hero or the biggest flop with his no taxes on middle class and Obamacare promise. It's game time. Plus no matter what he does it will affect us all. I hope he is as good as you think he is.

I wish the USA could buy Obama for what he is worth, and turn around and sell him, for what he thinks he's worth. the deficit could be payed off, and still have a surplus. with that being said, I still think he was the best of the two.

These are crazy skewed......It took me a while to figure out exactly what the "receding red" means.....

It means NOTHING. those purty colorful charts attempt to size the states based on their electors versus their state boundaries.

It is a FREAKIN STUPID analysis of the data. EVERYONE knows it is the big cities with their big electors that helped Obama.

When you give away free phones and pump up stupid people with food stamps and every other **** free handout, this is what you get.

Take away all the big cities, and we would never vote demo CRAZY CRAT again.........NEVER.

Have fun with your silly coloring book.

    How about this one:

I didn't think it was stupid at all, and the reason I found it interesting is how it puts thing into proper perspective. I have seen the county map you posted, and the common one I first posted often, and I always looked at them and took some solace that the majority of the country is still pretty conservative. These maps I posted really spells it out precisely how wrong that perception was. There are no votes for largest geography controlled, and the maps I posted show exactly what the geography of this country would look like if it were resized based on populations, which does count for voting.

What this tells me that more than I even feared is that this country just maybe has passed the tipping point. I pray that I am wrong, but I am afraid we have gone past that point where the majority of this country now believes in some sort of socialism. They view and believe the government should be bigger and be more involved in daily affairs. I am afraid that the USA is at a point where it might be changing forever, and the country as we have always known it will be lost. Capitalism, the entrepreneurial spirit, and success, the very things that helped build this great nation are now vilified by many of our politicians and those views are evidently supported by that many more of the electorate.

You may think the maps are stupid, I think they are eye opening to just how much of a minority those who believe in less government really are in this country. Land mass means nothing, populations and how they vote will take this country in the direction they choose. When we have more than half of the population now as those who receive from the government and expect those that work and produce to keep funding the cost it is going to be hard to reverse.

What makes the map look stupid is the very remark that folks made here about the red fade, or whatever the hell they said.

I still think the map does nothing but skew the data....the twisted maps which use electoral and population data do nothing but muddy the data.

Basically the map says is if ohio were resized based on population or elector it would be 20% bigger. SO WHAT. It will not be resized based on pupulation or elector so it doesn't matter.

WHAT DOES matter is trying to figure out why Romney received less votes than McCain.....
WHAT DOES matter is trying to figure out who we can run that can get black republicans back on our side.
WHAT DOES matter is trying to figure out a method to get the Latino vote that voted for Bush BACK.
WHAT DOES matter is trying to figure out how to get the Asian vote that voted for Bush BACK.
WHAT DOES matter is trying to figure out how to get republicans thinking about REPUBLICAN IDEAS again.

I know a crap ton of folks that didn't vote for Romney what would have voted for any other Republican. Sad, but True.
