    November Night Fishing?

I know some of you probably looked the title of this thread and wondered what some idiot is posting. Well, the reason I (the idiot) posted this is because a buddy and I went fishing yesterday afternoon and only had about 30-45 minutes of daylight left. We caught one before dark, one at dark, and three about an hour after dark. We'd never entertained the idea of staying after dark, it just kind of happened. Granted, the three we caught after dark were small ones, but now I have to wonder about the possiblility of November night bite. I'm guessing that catching these fish was just a fluke and probably wouldn't happen often or be much better. Have any of you ever night fished in November and been productive?

I fished Dale Hollow most of last week and the night bite was by far better than the day bite. The day bite was actually terrible, atleast for smallmouth. We caught more quantity and quality smallmouth in two nights than we did in four days. At dark the baitfish seemed to make their way into the creeks and ball up a bit more and the fish followed them. Jigs were bait of choice and they were sure thumping it. I think we caught 4 quality fish the first night and 8 the second night. Lost the biggest one at the boat, thats always how it goes, right.

Apologize if this is too lake specific. But I always had good look working tight to the banks at Cumberland in November. Seems to me it's a lot like a early spring bite. Water temp is about the same. I tend to throw Long-A Bombers, parrellel the bank and play wth retrieves. Yea Stripers, but small mouth and large mouths were also in the game.

Ohio River seems to turn on in November.

Barren was always for me was a matter of waiting for dark then working stick baits near the banks with a thump.......thrump thump......type pop and retrieve.

I like Novemebr, even if chilly, you tend to miss the wind and the rain.
