Geo, that young man, is one of the millions of reasons. that people like you and I, have to make sure there is a safety net in place for them. and out of the millions like him, he could very well be one of the smart'er ones. it's sad but true, and then on the other hand. Judge Judy is a tv show, but if the guy is that good at acting dumb, he has a brighter future than I do.

    Safety NET my ASS..........

No one threw me a net......I WORKED hard for what I have and I will be DAMNED if a loser like that deserves one rat cent of my tax dollars.

Sorry, but this and your attitude on this is what is destroying this great country.

If he had no safety net, he would either be working, or looking, or IN PRISON.......I don't care which......

    Later,

    Geo

WD your getting to soft in your old age.
The United States is full of people like this. Men, women, boys, girls, black, white, yellow and brown skinned. A lot of folks who get things given to them gravitate to a sense of entitlement and they lose a valuable lesson of being responsible for their actions.
I'm guessing you live pretty comfortable and not around a big city? By big city I don't mean Lexington. I'm guessing this because you have this soft spot for everyone who mooches off the system. If you were to get hammered with it in your daily travels to and from work or while out in public I think your opinion would be a little different. Would it bother you to see high dollar cars, iPhones and other luxury items in the hands of people on some government programs? It does me. If a person needs help then fine but it doesn't give them a free ride on responsibility and accountability does it? I know many think that and choose to believe that just a few people are like this guy but they are wrong.
Taking the high road on your opinion about fools like this is admirable but in my opinion unrealistic and unsustainable for this country. At some point people have to PAY their way.

I have no issue whatsoever with tax dollars being used to help the sick, the disabled, the homeless, the hungry, the children of deadbeats, and those truly in need of a helping hand to survive because they are unable to make it on their own.

Please note, my list did not include the lazy or the dumbasses of the World. This idiot falls in the lazy dumbass category. I worked (nearly full time) all through college and took classes all hours of the day and night to pay for what my academic scholarship didn't cover. Get a job. Flip burgers. Sack groceries. (No shame in either.)

Shouldn't get a dime of mine and yours tax dollars.

It is sad that our government tells us it is cheaper to hand money to these kinds of folks than pay people to police the system... we even have laws that punish folks who commit welfare fraud but for some reason even if they get flushed out there seems to be no penalty... These things are not however whats putting the major strain on our budget as some keep wanting to imply... This has been discussed on this forum several times and if we did away with the whole welfare system it seems we would save 12% but all the folks who Mr. Splitshot mentioned in his first paragraph would have to be disposed of in some way so we wouldn't have to stumble over them when gong to the grocery store and other places in our daily lives, until somebody comes up with a better idea we seem to be stuck with the one we have now... Does bailing out wall street irritate anybody as much as this type of thing does, probably not because we don't see that but we see these losers everyday.

Bailing out anything bothers me. I'm of the belief that you pay for your crimes, slackness, bad decisions and whatever. As far as folks being disposed of I think the way to teaching someone the value of a solar is make them work!!! Buildings need repair, streets need swept, trash on highways and waterways need to be cleaned and on and on. Anyway your idea of what else can we do since there is no plan in place for these people is why I HATE HATE HATE more gubment intervention on any level. Once a group starts sukking on the gubment teat it never leaves. Before you know it the program becomes so entrenched in our system that its next to impossible to get rid of.

CORRECTION: It's impossible to get rid of.
