    Traded some sauger for venison

I went fishing and caught some sauger. My neighbor went hunting and shot a big doe. He brought me over some nice steaks and a roast and I gave him some of my sauger. Seemed like a fair trade all around.

I decided to marinade the steaks: 3 parts olive oil, 1 part soy sauce,1 part Worcestershire sauce,1/2 a chopped onion, fresh garlic, and a little honey. It's in the fridge as I type.

Venison steak, steamed vegetable medley of cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots all topped with a little cheese, fried brown rice, pork and beans and Texas toast with garlic and cheese. After all that, I had a scoop of ice cream, Death By Chocolate.

My husband came home for Thanksgiving (after being away at work for 6 months). His neighbor gave him a venison tenderloin a couple of days before he left. I told him how to soak the blood out of it, rinse it good, and freeze it in water. I thawed it, sprinkled it with spices and fried it last night. I was very tender, didn't have any wild taste, and delicious with those hot buttermilk biscuits.

Bassin_bug, I don't usually comment on spelling errors but I'm glad to see that you were very tender and didn't have any wild taste!! LOL

ROFLMBO....Well, thanks for the reminder to check my message before posting it. On second thought, I WAS VERY TENDER and ready to get wild. Six months is a long dry spell.
