    Drugs and kids

OK been a little rough morning so I figured I would stir the pot a bit. Our Narc guys just popped some illegal Mexicans with a garage full of marijuana and about 1 million bucks cash. The suspect also had some kids one a new born.

I am willing to bet that we as tax payers are paying for all medical bills and government food assistance.

    What are you're thoughts?

    Oh yeah Merry Thanksgiving.

Man Ryan I hate it when kids are involved. They don't choose to be brought into this world and certainly don't choose useless parents. I couldn't do your job my man. I would struggle bigtime with the human aspect of it. I don't think my temperment would work well at your job either. My hat is off to you and your collegues for what you do everyday I have no answers only support...

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well!!
When I see or hear of anything like this it does piss me off. Illegals or legals from any race breaking the law should be dealt with properly. If it's proven that someone is guilty of dealing, smoking or whatever with illegal drugs and on gubment assistance they should have that stopped or (reduced to take care of the kids they made)
The welfare mentality of our nation allows a ton of abuse and if this is another case of that it doesn't surprise....but does disappointment me!

Why would you keep your opinions to yourself on a discussion board??
Just stop calling people names who have a different opinion than yours....

If my opinion(s) were known by some on some stances it could hurt me with the job, rarer but could happen. If you fold saw where your tax dollars relay went you would be so fighting mad you could not see straight.

I always figured you had to be careful about what you say on here. I never expect any details on subjects about law enforcement incidences you may have inside info on. Be safe out there!

I can't imagine, hell i don't even want to! This happens all to frequently and it's not just in the bigger cities, in smaller towns these things or people are widely known yet nothing ever gets done about them. I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when i watch ebt cards buy foods my family considers a luxury, only to see user of such get in that late model vehicle with rimz that would feed my family for a month. Or after the junk food purchase watch them pull out a wad of cash and buy lottery tickets and smokes.

Yea, i'd better keep my opinion to myself. I think DJD was referring to me in his comment.

I think i was pretty clear that the name calling was in jest. Heck i figured that would have been clear?

This is a perfect example of how legalized pot could have benefits, but instead of using a logical argument some chose to compare pot to other legal harmful substances. Two wrongs don't make a right and the alcohol vs. pot argument doesn't hold water. I'm all for a vote on the matter and wouldn't be suprised if it passed in Ky, but i guarantee that the " it's not as bad as alcohol" argument will fail.

This is also another perfect example of why a flat/fair/999 tax rate would level the playing field. No more would taxes just burden the productive, it would also bitch slap the dealers abusing the welfare system.

I agree with the 999. But I meant that we are paying for the "poor" and they have a million in the garage. But yet we are still payin. I also bet they don't pay any tax. But I am gettin killed just like all of you are.

Hahahahaha I thought I was clear that I was talking about you with the "reply with quote" post.

Anyway, I thought most agreed with the law enforcement people in that post by RT about how making it legal would let them deal with other crimes and save some taxpayers dollars and resources to deal with more serious issues. I have always maintained that by making it legal (commercially grown hemp should be right now) it would open up a large conduit of taxable products. Since pot is illegal the only folks who cash in are the people breaking the law and the "old blood" lawmakers are still so paranoid over pot they won't even legalize hemp here in KY but other states are making it legal to actually sell pot?!?!?!?

Taking a purely economic view on the Hemp crop in KY shows how beneficial it could be to the farmers and the other industries but its not allowed to be grown since pot is evil and they assume both plants are the same. I'm definitely not an expert on this but there is enough information out there that says commercially grown hemp is a viable crop.

i do agree with you that making pot legal would put the majority of dealers and small growers out of business unless they wanted to go legal and pay taxes. There will always be illegal grows if and when it's legal because that's human nature. People like to make their own and bypass some of the costs of taxes and regulations. Heck people still make Moonshine and alcohol is legal!

If pot was legal it would be regulate and if it was to follow some of the laws of booze like drinking and driving, moonshine, public intoxication or whatever....the money would come in from those law breakers. I know money plays a HUGE part in this war on drugs so any changes to those laws would meet alot of resistance......that's the problem, money talks and common sense goes out the window. I was told by a trooper friend that States get alot of money from the Feds for their war on drugs. You know the just say no campaigns and that most of the war on drugs is a money grab from the states so they do what is mandated by the Feds and get the cash. I don't know if its true but it sounds about right to me.
