    florida reform school

The shooting at the CT school has knocked another gruesome bit of inhumanity to children. Abuses at that school, are finaly being investigated, too late to punish anyone, but it shows that we are really not that great humane society we pretend to be.Child abuse has been with us for years, and we ignore it. From massacres of indian children, to exploiting migrant workers children, to supporting child labor in poor counrtys. And then we have those who tear thier hair and beat thier breasts about abortion, explain that please.

Tough post to understand and follow.....not sure who ignores child abuse?? Heck anymore if you spank your child in public you might get a little one on one time with an officer who responded to a child abuse in public call. I have heard of kids crying child abuse just because they didn't get their way at home.
Quick story......We had an employee who was fired for being late and stealing and other things but was pissed that he was fired. He caused us so much trouble by claiming we fired him for being a veteran of desert storm, he claimed discrimination because he had PTSD, he claimed he didn't get all his scale wages and he claimed we were hiring children to work in our shop. He was talking about my daughter who was 7 at the time. She would come in and play on snow days or whatever and part of her playing was mixing all the multicolored wire nuts and then count them into like color piles. She would put them in ziplock sandwich bags and play with them. Anyway this disgruntled ex employee called the labor department to say we were paying her to separate wire nuts into baggies.
You know I had to attend two meetings with a lawyer and he stopped in unannounced to see if my daughter was in the back working....during school hours!!!! We actually had to get a signed statement delivered to him stating that we were not using child labor to count wire nuts. Geez what a waste of time.
Who massacres Indian children?? Abortion is a tough issue but to me it's not even close to being in the same discussion as some child in tumbuktu making shoes for Nike.

    no it isn't

There were a bunch of un recorded deaths of childre, who were wards of the state, there were cases of children chained and tied for days. A unit was locked, and caught fire, 6 kids died in that fire, while the guards were out partying. Beatings that were severe, but used to insure discipline. This would have been a big story, except it came out at the same time as the CT shooting. As a parent, whose children are grown, it still hurts to think about this shooting. BUT if you look back at our history, you'll see we are not the caring people we believe ourselves to be. Indian children were slaughterd. Our child welfare system is sometimes a shame, because we cant or wont spend the money needed to aid these unfortunate kids. For years migrant workers used thier children in the field to help them make a wage. Child labor laws were fought to keep wages low and use children in the work force, A lot of that has changed, but there is still abuse and disregard concerning our children. Some of our schools are a disgrace, why? We cut budgets by dollars, and later spend more because of shoddy thinking. We say we value our children, and in most cases we do. But a lot of these kids who fall through the cracks are not given a second thought.I also worry about this thing, because my son is a teacher, I have a daughter in law who is one also. With states cutting budgets for law enforcement, and education,we wonder how could this happen. Like you said you cant protect against crazy. And then I was reading where another man was arrested because there was a suspicion that he made threats against a nearby school in indiana.Wanna bet we hear a lot of these things come about suddenly.

    Florida Reform School

Kygorsky is right I read one article about it. There were allegations of beatings, sexual abuse, people disappearing, and burials in the night. There are a lot of links out there, but I will post one here. Click on the following. Feds asked to examine Florida school deaths mystery - CNN.com

WOW..........amazing how this story was completely buried. You both are right. This is a serious story that has been virtually eliminated by the media due to the massacre in CT.

    SAD......

    BTW, thanks for posting.

    Later,
