are you talkin about right below the **** if so well sorta... ind. side has a few islands.... stay about 50 yds off the wall and go slow and watch ur depth finder....
the rest of the river is good stay between the markers

Yeah I'm talking right below the dam. I'm want to try for some sauger over the winter.
There is a piece of the old lock about 300 below the dam and about 150 yards from the Indiana side just right under the surface armed with rebar. Also if they catch you close to the dam they have been known to give out a hefty fine. Sometimes the saugar move next to the lock wall, Indiana side for about the first 400 foot from the end. Be careful not to get too close to the end of the lock as you won't hear the barges coming out of the lock. Before the flood they were catching big sauger from the bank on white curleytail jigs from the bank on the indiana side down the river from the steps.
