Heading Home for the Holidays...hows the big O?

Is worth bringing a rod to hit up the falls for sauger? Seems like its too high but my river fishing skills, well what little I had, are fading fast.

Bummer. Been doing a good bit of flounder fishing which reminds me of sauger fishing. Very "tactile" as I like to describe feeling for the light bite of a sauger as your jig is bouncing in the current.

Also, as much grouper, snapper and mahi as Ive been eating lately, I have been CRAVING some fresh flathead. I swear a five pound flathead is one of the best eating fish there is.

"tactile" Very good description of a sauger bite. I describe it as feeling a leaf on your hook. My trip on the first week of this month trip was exactly like that while jigging. Just felt that slight, slight leaf like weight on my line.
