launching boat to get below Markland Dam

How is the best way to get below Markland dam (Ohio River) I know there is one ramp not far away on Ind. side but look like it is poor ramp, I know there is one at Geant Ky. 4-5 miles from dam, is the best idea put in above dam and lock thur? any inf. would be appreciated. Wild duck

Used to use Dam View ramp on the Indiana side one mile below dam but have not used it in about 2 years . It was really in disrepair then. poor parking also altough when the river is down you could park on the bank. Locking thru is a pain in my opinion and can be time consuming plus time to run down from Craigs. So the ramp at Ghent may be best option. I sometimes would launch at Carrolton fish the Ky River and run up from there. Imagine fishing is tough right now. Was out last week and only caught hybrids and whites. Had been catching really nice sauger and smallies at Meldahl. As aside not The Lockmaster disallowed fishig inside of lockwalls becuse some boneheads wouldn't move out of the way fast enouh when tows were approaching. Wags and I will fish again when river gets right and post then.

I can't wait for me and my "BOAT WIFE" to hit the river again. If it ever goes back down I expect sauger fishing to get back to being great. Well all we can do is enjoy the snow until then.
