Can you imagine paying 75% of your income to taxes like lawmakers in France proposed on folks making a certain amount. Yes they were wealthy (1.5 mill or close to that) imo, that's what happens when you skate down that road of supporting everyone and having socialistic ideals. Our country is headed that way, with the help of liberal politicians and media, but at some point the money makers stop making money or the big money makers say goodbye and take their citizenship/money elsewhere.

I think this "panel" realized they crazy socialist president was going to turn France into something even WORSE than France......

I couldn't agree more.

To predict America's idealogical direction, look at California, then Canada, and finally Europe. As more and more people are willing to give up freedoms and empower the federal government, we inexorably slide toward socialism.

In concept socialism is a very humane and ideal form of government, but it is fatally flawed in several key ways. It has, and always will fail 100% of the time. How so many 'high minded' people are blind to that is beyond me.

The European hybrids, so called social democracies are I believe where Mr. Obama is trying so hard to take us. Problem is the ones who are succeeding, if you want to call the way they live success, is they are a tiny fraction of our size, and are very different culturally.

How many times have you heard songs with lines like "We'll put a boot a boot in your ass, it's the Swedish way" or "brought to you courtesy of the blue and yellow"? It ain't happened...ain't going to.

It is very easy for all of Europe to like socialism......they CAME from monarchies and dictatorships. Socialism is a step up for them. They are LEMMINGS and have never had the freedoms that the United States have.
