Cabela’s® Announces Opening Date for Louisville, Ky., Store
Ribbon to be cut, doors to open Thursday, April 11
SIDNEY, Neb. (Feb. 19, 2013) – Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, will officially open the doors of its Louisville, Ky., store – the company’s first location in the Bluegrass State – at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11. A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Cabela’s executives will begin at 10:45 a.m.
Opening day will kick off a weekend-long celebration featuring outdoor personalities, celebrity appearances, family events, giveaways and more.
“We are on target for our April 11 opening of Cabela’s in Louisville – our first Kentucky location,” said Tommy Millner, Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our thousands of loyal customers across the Commonwealth and in Southern Indiana have waited a long time for a Cabela’s in their neck of the woods. With today’s announcement, we’re one step closer to opening the doors to the Cabela’s retail experience in a new region of the country for us.”
The 88,000-square-foot store will be located in the Old Brownsboro Crossing development at the intersections of Interstates 265 and 71 near Summit shopping center. It will employ approximately 200 full-time, part-time and seasonal staffers, most from the greater Louisville area. For more information about employment, please visit www.cabelas.jobs.
The store will feature a mountain replica, dynamic wildlife displays, an indoor archery range, boat shop, Gun Library, Fudge Shop, Bargain Cave and a wide range of top-quality outdoor products. It also will offer an In-Store Pickup Program, allowing customers to order Cabela’s.com merchandise and have it delivered to the store free of charge.
Currently, Cabela’s operates 40 retail stores across the United States and Canada. In addition to the Louisville location, the company has announced plans to open an additional 13 stores by the end of 2014.

A buddy is one of their vendors ---- the last word he gave me is that opening is planned for April 11th --- he will be in town mid March for some training on his product so I think that feedback/date is pretty reasonable and real
