help on crappie fishing kentucky lake

i will be heading to ky. lake in mid april after some crappies, it will be my first trip to the lake and i would appreciate any information that would help make it a succesful trip, thank you for your advice.

Best advice I can give you is to read this, thoroughly : Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources - Preliminary Results then use the water conditions & weather conditions (at that time) to correlate with what was happening during the study, when the water temps/weather were the same (or close to it). You don't necessarily have to fish the same creeks shown in the study maps ... but, use the info about movement & positioning of the fish, on whatever creek you do fish.

It's hard to not catch a crappie on Kentucky Lake in mid April. Good luck to ya.
