The DHS and DOD are preparing to start combat operations to take back and regain control of Brookyln, West Louisville, West St Louis, most of southern Detroit, and selected small towns along the US- Mexico border.

The vehicles will also be strategically located at all Walmart stores before next year's Thanksgiving mid-night madness sale begins.

The balance will be sold at a significantly marked up price to generate profit for the government as the next more capable generation of off-road sport utility vehicles available only thru KIA.

Some reading I did. News sites on webs, minus the more radical ones.

What I piece together is that these vehicles were used in IRAQ and Afghanistan, damaged over the years, and came home for repair. As troop levels drew down, they were no longer needed for the Army. So DOD, thru US Army Forces Command sent them thru retrofit to have some of the heavy weapons platforms removed (50cal MG mounts and MK19 auto grenade launcher mounts) and refitted for DHS to distribute thru local federal law enfocement offices and local state/county/city police forces. Intent was to standardize capabilitites, and to increase capabilitites of law enforcement especially along the southern border with Mexico to increase enforcement against the heavily armed drug cartels. There has been some suggestions that the vehicles would also provide increased capability in the event of more massed terrorist attacks, or in the event the drug cartels became even more aggressive.
