    Springtime jugging

Is it very effective? We normally don't start jugging until the end of may but I will be fishing from April 6-14 and wouldn't mind have a few catfish to go along with the crappie.

Will they hit live bait right now? Or do I need to use cut bait or something like shrimp or hotdogs etc.

I use cut chad but alot of people use different things. Lively bluegill might get you a flathead though.

Speaking of shad. Do you think there will be shad when the water levels get back to normal? I haven't seen any lately.

They'll be put to use that week. We were supposed to use them over the summer but never got the chance.
