Carp-Taylorsville

I am wanting to fish for carp from the bank at Taylorsville. Know this sounds crazy, but want to let the kids get one on the line.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go and what to try? I know they should be moving soon, if not already.

you could fish anywhere below the dam and its pretty kid friendly with the sidewalks and everything. That place is full of em or if your fishing the main lake try in the back of some creeks i see em roll around all the time while im fishing. good luck

We always boil feed corn in cherry koolaid and seal it and let it sit for a week. Chum where you're fishing the night before and when you get up in the morning cast out and hold on. If its just a day trip you could do it in the morning and fish that afternoon and evening. We always do the best at night though. Caught some good cats doing that too. We do this at rough river though.

Will the feed corn sink or float?

Thinking about doing this around the state ramp in one of the adjacent coves or down from Settlers Trace marina.

It sinks like a rock. We do it at the state marina at rough and it works faster since the carp hang out around there anyways.

Tail Water, walk to the other side to the corner, going away from the water outlet. Their have been many times when I have been there and must of been hundreds of carp surfacing right there. Don't know much about carp but one thing I know is that they love to school in that corner.
