Where are some good places to go around Louisville? From the bank or boat? I'm looking to get back into the sport and need some decent spots. Any help would be much appreciated

We have done ok in the creek next to Captain's Quarters. Also got a few along the bank upriver from there. All at night and from a boat. Mostly buffalo and carp, only a few gar. I hear that the gar stack up at the mouth of that creek in the summer but I have not seen them when we were there. There is a lot of boat traffic in that area, be careful.

Unsure of any bank spots to go. Hope this helps.

LOL,,,I`ll tell you what i was out trying out my boat last night and went to the discharge across from horseshoe it was loaded with BIG gar and silver carp you couldn`t cast with out running your bait into them,,,i snagged a couple of close to 5 ft over 30lb gar,,,,,,,so i went to snagging them..lol was fun,,

Just a heads up... The snagging season went out earlier this month so just make sure your not just throwing a plain treble hook. Not worth the fine if you get caught lol.

Hey no.9 shad rap does a pretty good job,,lol can`t help they took a swipe at my bait and got hooked,,,,LOL plus if the warrens was watching they would have noticed i didn`t kill a single one,,,,i mean come on,,i was a sport about it,,,,i was useing 0 lb test,,,most either pulled off or bent my hook..lol wasn`t getting that big of gar in my boat,,,

I was Barren Lake over the weekend and there were tons of carp on the bank. You could have shot a million of em. I know it is not in Louisville but not a bad drive.
