Prayers Sent to THe Bardstown PD

My heart and prayers go out to The Slain Officer and his Family. My God rest his soul and the devil destroy the sack of scum that shot him.

I cannot understand or comprehend the coldness of the heart that could allow someone to act in such a manner. May the perp's soul be eternally damned.

Prayers to the officer's friends and family.

Thanks guys, I am also a officer here in KY. I don't work at Bardstown, but went to the academy with Ellis, and he seemed like a great guy. Nice to see that on this website. It was awful what happened to him, and he had a wife and two sons. Just awful. May god be with his family.

Prayers to his family. It's a sad reminder of how crazy things can be out there. Ryan, Luke512 be safe out there and we appreciate what you do for us.

Horrible situation...many prayers for those he leaves behind.

The whole thing seems so senseless. It sounds like someone put a bunch of brush on the off ramp and waited in hiding to ambush him when he got out to move it. I wonder if they were targeting him specifically, or just anybody who stopped to move the brush? Heck, if it had been me come along before him, I'd have hopped out and moved it. Would the attacker have shot me? Scary...and this guy is still out there.

Thank You. God Bless You and Yours. Things have been tight in the Scanlan House or the few days.

Terrible situation and my heart goes out to the family, both immediate and extended. God bless and protect all our first responders as they are in harms way on a nearly constant basis.

I hope the catch the ******** that did this and hang them.

Definitely a setup, question is, were they targeting the police, or were they just going to shoot whoever showed up? Anybody know if a call was placed to the police, reporting the debris in the roadway? If not, I don't see how they could have been targeting that officer. Either way it's really tragic, and just nuts.

I agree, BUT...I also know that the Bluegrass Parkway at 2am is desolate. Very few cars out there. If they knew when the officer got off duty and knew his route home, it wouldn't have been too hard to get close.

Could very well be...but you never know...

I'm guessing the dash cam would have caught nothing but him getting out of the cruiser to move the debris, then getting shot.

    It's scary.
