Crossed the creek today on the way home. Looked good. I've been told fishin has slacked off lately. When I fished it I caught more fish on yum craw pappy's in craw color than anything.

My 11 yr. old has been bugging me to creek fish so I figured I'd take him to Otter Creek since we've never been. Anyone have any info on the water level and the best water levels to fish? What are the best areas to fish along the creek? We plan on wading and catching whatever bites likely throwing small cranks and spinners.

Caught several nice smallmouth on small plastic and small cranks. Also caught some trout on small cranks and meal worms. Mainly fished from Blue Hole down stream.
The creek has been low and clear for this time of year, but it has been fishing well. Smallmouth have been in various stages of spawning recently. In the 20 years I have fly fished this stream, this year is the healthiest I have seen for smallmouth. Population is good and the fish are brightly colored and lots of girth. The recently enacted slot limit should really improve things in the coming years.
