I live in Southern Indiana and we always have a strong shellcracker bite usually starting at the end of Aug and running clear through early mid Nov. These fish are usually gorging themselves for the winter to come and are fairly easy to pattern that time of year. I see no reason why a fisherman couldn't target crackers in Sept and Oct and do quite well.

I catch them in a little deeper water up here right on bottom using redworms. Anyone have any luck down there that time of year catching slab crackers in the fall? I'm fairly positive they have a strong fall bite down there but was just wondering of any first hand accounts. thanks in advance.
