    The most UNUSUAL catfish bait

There are many unusual catfish baits we all know of: soap, hot dogs, cheese etc. But whats the most unusual bait you have ever used?

I've got them on bacon fat which is not that unusual. when I was a kid I had a farm pond that I could catch them with rattle traps. 10 lb channel cats on bass tackle was a blast for a 10 year old kid. What is you weirdest bait????

Blackbird hearts. Getting the bait was half the fun.

I was told by my grandfather that he used to shoot a couple groundhogs and use the heart and liver to catch them.

haha that sounds great. And my weirdest would probably be marshmallows. The mallows float and the cats come up at night and hit them on the surface. Real fun fishing!

I've heard of people using peeled white grapes, mulberries, raisins, Preparation H soaked cotton balls, roadkill chunks/organs, and lightly chewed bubblegum.

Used frog legs one time at a pay lake tourny. Actually caught a few on them. Brother said they've put a cheeseburger on the hook and caught big cats A few feet off the bank.

I caught a 5lb channel cat on a wacky rigged finesse worm a few weekends ago on Elmer Davis. Man, what a fight! I can't imagine something pushing 50lbs.

Chicken soaked in strawberry jello, which came from board member Clyde Mills (haven't heard from him in quite a while). I've had a lot of luck with that.

I have a friend who was trot lining the Wabash River one year and no one except one person was doing any good and he would not tell any one what bait he was using. My friend ran onto him at the local watering hole and bought him several beers he finally told my friend he was using white grapes, so my friend goes to the store and they do not have any white grape and the store manager told him he has sold a lot of white grapes for some reason. This sealed the deal my friend goes to the next town about 7 miles away and bought a lot of white grape baited every hook with the grapes and never caught a thing of course the guy lied to him and he bought it hook line and sinker. Of course i still bring it up when the opportunity presents itself.
