I am heading down Thursday through the weekend and was wondering if anyone had info on the water conditions after all this rain. Also any pointers for stripers, bass or cats would be appreciated. Will post results when we get back next week.

I was on the lake Monday. Water conditions Monday (but we got heavy rain here today in Grayson County) were fine on Monday but I fished Axtel to Tulles Creek. Really good color. However, driving home came across Peter Cave and it was mud.
I have struggled on Rough the past few weeks. Fish are scattered for me. I have targeted fish deep and offshore structure with absolutely no luck at all, not even a bite. I have managed to pull a few off off isolated brush piles and rock banks. Every fish I have caught has been in less than 10 ft of water.
Boat traffic was a little crazy too. I thought by going Monday all of the 4th of July crowd would be gone and I would have a nice peaceful day on the water - not so much.
Anybody else on anything? I can't even put a pattern together right now - hope everyone is having better luck than me.
Hi PASTORBASS...I dont fish rough but I have a place at Nolin and the LM Bass have been busting shad on the surface there ...dont think Rough would be that much different . The key was not to use too big of baits ,for instance I started fishing the jumps with a regular ZARA SPOOK , and they wouldn't hit it, switched to a spook jr. and really did well ...just my 2 cents
Thanks Jfw - ill give that a try. I need to get to Nolin. It's not too far and I hear the fishing is better.Hi PASTORBASS...I dont fish rough but I have a place at Nolin and the LM Bass have been busting shad on the surface there ...dont think Rough would be that much different . This weekend The water was up and being pulled hard. Fish seemed to be scattered. We had some small hybrid trolling spoons near the dam and state dock areas and didn't really see any jumps. We did ave some fun catching bluegill around the docks and even caught some catfish and bass on live bluegill around the docks. Not much help on the catching but figured I'd post results anyway.
