Nolin Lake last week report

Well i was on vacation last week and spent it at our place at Nolin (WAX). We fished a cove in the river Sunday morning and I was worming & my buddy was cranking , he got a keeper and several small bass.

Put my boat in Monday and was sticking it on the dock for the week on my way there i seen a bunch of fish busting the surface , got 2 on a spook.

Tuesday night me & my buddy fished the Tuesday evening tourney out of Wax , my buddy got a keeper and I got a good slot fish in the first 30 minutes and we felt good , but we didn't get another keeper the rest of the night. Winning weight was 13lbs 2nd was 11lbs and 3rd was 9 lbs . Wednesday I went up to my spot in Conoloway & didn't get a bite

Then the rain started and it rained and rained !!! But I still fished , went to the spot where they were busting the surface on Monday , but they were not as active got a couple but no keepers....

We trolled hoping for some Walleye on the 4th but only managed one 10 inch crappie .

Sat i went back to the surface bite spot and I got 10 fish all slot fish. Sun me and another buddy went to the surface spot and he got one on his first cast ....they quit jumping so we ran to Iberia and fished the old road bed , but the lake was getting very high ...I caught 2 dinks there and my buddy lost a bigger fish on his chug bug ....Then we went back to the surface spot and there was a bigger class of fish busting , we both got hookups on our first cast but my fish broke the line with my favorite surface bait....I was pissed because they dont make that lure in the color patern any more , but low and behold , about 10 minutes my bait came floating up ...that fish shook that lure somehow and I was happy!! On Sunday we were gonna go out but the lake had risen so high I had to wade in waist deep water to get on the dock

I went ahead and pulled the boat out . We didn;t have a fantastic week but it sure beat working !!

Catching any white bass in the jumps around wax? I've got a camp near there

We didn't catch the first white bass, but I heard they were busting in the mouth of Dog Creek and around the big island near Nolin estates
