Fishing below the dam at Cumberland River.

It has been 6-7 years since I fished Cumberland River, and mostly we put in near Burksville.
I want to Kayak fish for 6-10 miles from the dam. How is the river normally. My nephew is
nervous about the flow. I don't remember rapids being too much of an issue along the river.
Just lots of cold water I don't want to swim in. I know water flow is the key. What is a good
low flow rate? Thanks for any advise, especially if you have floated a canoe or kayak on the
    river before.

with the lake up they are running the generators all day but they should be back to normal soon. It is best to go in a kayak when it is not running. There is no white water but a few shoals can get a little swift.
