Far as I know, Springsteen, Wonder, or McCartney doesn't go onstage during their concerts and bring up politics. If they do they don't personally insult the President of the United States.
Okay with me if they advocate their position onstage like "I'm for peace, and I disagree with the war" but when they personalize it and insult the sitting president that's way way out of line.
Also if they say "Vote Democrat, they'll give you money" that's fine with me. If they attack others like "Never vote for scumbag Republicans, they'll make you work for your own money" that's where it rubs me wrong.
Thanks to Natalie Maines' stupidity I dropped Dixie Chicks like a hot brick, and to this day don't listen to music that she's involved with. If it comes on, I change the station.
Much as I dislike President Obama's politics, if a musician talks about him onstage like Maines did about Bush, I'd treat them the same way.
Call me a dinosaur, but if some airhead musician disrespects the United States, I squelch their ass. Plenty of other music to listen to.
