Any tips from you guys how the bass fishing is going on Rough River?

Went today for a few hours. Put in at Peter Cave and fished down to Little Clifty. Had a decent day, according to Rough River Lake Standards. Caught several bass on a jig, all came off secondary points. Caught them on football and casting jig. Didn't have any keepers, but were all over 14 inches but not quite 15. Not too bad in my opinion on Rough for a few hours on a nice cool, summer day.
Hey Pastorbass,
I think I might have spoken to you today in little clifty. If you were in a red stratos with a Vmax, I appreciate the info. Were going back out in the morning and were gonna try jigs again, maybe a shallow running crank bait also.
Yep, that was me. We hit a few more points on the way back out and had a few more.
Got some strikes on a big worm but no hook ups. With this cool weather I was hoping to catch a couple on top water but nothing. We found plenty of schools of shad around Peter cave, but no bass feeding.
You fish rough very often?

Just curious what do you consider a secondary point?
Anything that's not a primary point - just kidding... I use Dave Stewarts definition I learned in his ledge fishing class last year... Primary point is where two major bodies of water meet (main lake and major creek or bay). Secondary point is basically any other point
Thanks for the help that's what I figured but I wanted to make sure.
No, I don't fish rough much at all. I usually fish Nolin. If you don't me asking (Pastorbass) I assume your a pastor...If so where do you Pastor? I'm a Minister as well (Not a Pastor though)
I don't fish it much either. I usually drive on down to barren or Kentucky - winter time I hit dale hollow pretty regular. But rough is so close when I get a few minutes ill fish it. I've lived in Grayson county 3 years now and have not fished Nolin since I've been here. Locals tell me I should go to Nolin and forget rough.
I pastor New Harvest Baptist in Caneyville. If you leave the start park and head south, it's a white church on the right just as you hit the Caneyville city limits. What kind of ministry are you involved in?
Jail and Nursing Home ministry. Sometimes we go to Peewee valley womens prison and we used to go to lagrange but we don't get in there anymore. Good to know a Christian on here to share info with.
