The past week we were dealt with a cold blast. Be cool front push through bringing high winds in a strong northeast cooling waters, but also clearing water conditions up.The cooler water temperatures drove big schools of blue fish and Spanish mackerel into our local intercoastal waterways. These fish are willing to take live bait and artificial lures. Once you locate the schools, jigs are a great way to get the fish to strike, once you’re hooked up, the commotion should bring many fish boat side.Tarpon bite has slowed down due to the cooler weather. There are still a few juvenile fidh around willing to take live bait along mangrove of shorelines and muddy bottom areas.Bottom fishing great tactic to use when conditions cool down and water temperatures drop. Black drum, snapper and other bottom dwellers are willing to take shrimp on the bottom. Look for structures on the bottom rock piles are great areas to locate a plethora of species.Well, that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember, you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight lines!
