LAKE RUSSELL IS FULL, CLEAR & LOW 50’S

Bass fishing is fair. Several different methods are being used to catch bass. Rip rap rock seems to be a favorite using Shad Raps in perch and shad patterns. Also use the Rapala RS Shad Raps if the wind is up. These baits are made of plastic instead of balsa wood and have rattles in them. This added weight will aid you during the windy days and work great on catching those rip rap bass. The better fishing on the rock will occur after the sun has been beating down for at least forty five minutes. This gives the rock enough time to warm up and start holding the bait fish. During the cold winter months points are great areas all day. Find the points and fish a Rapala DT10 in close. Patience will be the key here and fish as many points as possible during the day. The spotted bass are also coming off these points. Also use some small jigs during the slow period of the day.
