Anyone ever use Tempress boat products. I'm going to build a boat deck extension, and I want the hatches to be waterproof. This company seems to provide products that might work for me, but I'm looking to see if anyone has ever used their stuff.

The bow hatch in my Raider is a Tempress 13 X 30 with 2 rotary latches. Been in the boat since new in May 2010. Seals work well, no leakage, latches work easy and positively seal the hatch. I'd recommend them. First 2 years I had the boat it had no bow cover and sat out in the sun. I see no sunfade in the hatches. I walk on them while on the bow often, and they stand up well to the abuse.

I've heard good and bad, and wanted someone I KNOW to give an opinion. I value yours.
That 13 x 30 is exactly the hatch I'm thinking of. Did it also come with the dry box. I'm trying to figure out just what that looks like and how it "attaches". There is a lot of stuff on the net about them but no installation details.

Mine had no dry box, its a 2 latch cam hatch. I'd recommend the cam hatches over the slam hatches as the cam latches just last longer. 877.234.7466 is the number to Tempress Customer assistance, and I'm think a call there may get you install instructiosn pdf'd to you. Also, on the Tempress page I note on some products such as tackle hatches, they give depth, and cutout dimensions you may be able to compare to clearances you have on the boat.
I emailed Tempress to ask where their installation guies are and will post their response.
You may also want to consider TH marine hatches, as they do offer some tackle hatches and deck hatches with locks. I've also read on some Florida blogs folks thought the TH marine hatches seals were better and they stood up to foot traffic better. I've never had one to compare.
I'm home Sunday if you want to come look at my hatch. That way you can see one installed and see how it's mounted.

I'm building a 15 x 40 x 15 extension. the 13 x 30 and 1 tackle system will take the lions share of the additional storage.

Geo, It was installed at the "factory" but these boats are hand built. I'd didn't install it, it came that way when I ordered it as such. I think you are on track. Best regards fot it working out. Organized storage sure makes a fishin trip easier!
