I have a bunch of antique fishing lures that I would like to find what they are and the value. Does anyone on here collect or know someone in Louisville that does? Thanks Ryan.

Ryan, be sure to tell who ever you get to look at your lures that you are not selling them and you want an insurance quote are they will lowball you and try to buy them for a lot less than they are worth. There are some good books on antique lures out there. I had a guy buy a heddon crazycrawler from me for 20 bucks then found out that it was worth a whole lot more.
Thanks for them advice. There are some I am willing to sell but some were my dad's and would not let them go for any amount of money.

Are you interested in trading any for others.........I have a decent collection from my step-dad's father. LOTS and LOTS of stuff. They are worth significantly more with the box, in good condition, and even more if you have paperwork.
A lure may be worth 100 bucks, but with a good condition box, maybe 500........and with good condition paperwork too.......maybe 1000........Just depends. I have quite a few that are like that.

Geo

I'm in frankfort. If you send some pics I will help in any way I can. Not interested in buying unless I see something I need. I collect to collect, not to make money. These lures tell so much about our sport and how it has evolved. It's truly amazing.

I should also say that none of mine are for sell either...
I do have some empty boxes, and paperwork for lures I'm TRYING to find though :), and would be willing to trade duplicated baits that I have for unique baits.
One in particular I have is a frog with moving legs. One leg fell off, but the box is in pretty dang good shape, and I have the paperwork. I'd love to have the frog.......
They sure are fun :)
