Affordable rod for fishing the A-rig?

I tried throwing it on a 7'4 H rod and it was underpowered. Now i have a 7'6 XH that works much better. I dont throw it much but after a week straight at KY Lake and throwing it all day I can tell ya the correct rod is very important. It wont have a good tip for keeping fish hooked but you could throw it on a catfish type rod that can be had fairly inexpensive. A lot has to do with the size of the rig youll be throwing. If youre throwing a 3 wire with light heads you could get by with a standard H rod
