Does the north end of the lake have a decent fall bite? I have fished Ky lake in the spring and summer but never in the fall. Takes me three hours to drive to the dam or should I keep trucking south?

I've done pretty well there in the fall. Both nirth and south. Look for bait in the bays
The N. End of Ky. Lake has been fishing fairly tough this fall. Shallow flats in the backs of bays have been the best places to start. Channel swings and secondary points are good back-up plans.
If you do come down here for fall fishing, be sure you familiarize yourself with the running lanes and the buoys. The TVA draws the lake down and places that you might have been safe running in late spring and summer ARE NOT safe to run this time of year!

Will do, going to try like crazy and make it down there this weekend. weather looks great and a lot of the Kentucky natives will be in a tree with the opening of gun season. should be a good weekend to fish!!!!
Keep an eye on the wind. SSW 10-20 tommorow will have the north end rockin

Yep..........with the wind, and yep for a fall bite.
This fall ( since about late summer on), has been a little better for me, but the Asian Carp seem to be an issue. I don't know if they are hurting the fishery yet, but man, they are everywhere.
The fall bite has been good. Today, we sucked it up, but on most other days/trips we've at least caught numbers. Today we simply could not get on a decent bit anywhere. With the wind tomorrow, we're headed to south barkley. Hopefully we don't get blown off the lake down there.
Later,
