Did you know there was one? Its in Illinois on donated land and cared for by a private concern. This was sent to me from a nephew, some of the pictures of the young men are very touching. Some day there will be a national tribute built[maybe] I say maybe because that might take some tax payer funding. We know the conservatives are al for our servicemen. Its when they become "mooching veterans" that they are a problem.For a lot of years now I've been sending checks to veterans organizations, DAV, VFW VA, and PVA. Sure I received flags,shopping bags, caps, and address labels, I don't do it for the "booty" but because they need our help now.lus I'm proud that I seved my country once, not a hard ship, wasn't drafted, just cause its my country

Instead of spending a bunch of money to hang a couple of plaques, I would rather see that money to make sure veterans are taken care of, but that's just me.

As for the VFW, they will not get a dime from me. They pulled a stunt when my grandfather ( a WW2 Vet) passed away years ago that I haven't gotten over. The VFW by my house is really just a bar and bingo hall.

Its been a while DH and I am not sure all of the details now. When I talk to my dad, who handled everything, I will let you know. It had something to do with money, but I cannot recall exactly what now and I don't want to specualte with out having my facts 100% correct.
