I read the story on Wired2fish.com and these guys are business owners. $6000 bail was set and I'm going to guess they get off with just a slap on the wrist. They will have to endure the label of being a cheater around the area they live.
I hope someone follows up on this because I would like to know the outcome.
Actually one article from a local news outlet stated they allegedly posted out for 5K and are awaiting June 18 trial for a misdemeanor charge....but they've also been banned from fishing tournaments....By WHO?? ....your guess is as good as mine.
I'll be keeping an eye out for results.
762 hits on this topic....any results of the June 18th court appearance???
Just received notice that the court date has been moved to sometime in August 2014. My source did not provide the exact date.
Sep 15, 2014:
Marshall County, AL judge found both men guilty & ordered them to jail for the next 30 days....1 yr suspended jail time....2 yrs probation....400 hrs community service....$1000 fine plus court cost....both may be released posting $1000 bond pending appeal but in doing so they also have to give up their hunting & fishing licenses.
Costly mistake for both of them.

Not a mistake.........a CLEAR and calculated deception on their part. Other anglers should SUE the living **** out of them in civil court.......Loss wages......WHATEVER they can come up with.
I agree with fines and losing their fishing and hunting privileges. Jail time seems excessive IMO.
