Were are they, anyone make it out?
We fished on Cumberland on Friday and threw the fly the entire time. I think we fished for 5+ hours. We caught 3 smallmouth, 1 spot and a drum. They were all basically near main lake points, but that's pretty much all we fished. None were trophies.
Still to early for the fly in my opinion. Fish haven't suspended yet, some but not that many. Water temps at Cumberland are still mid to high 50's.

Thanks for the info, if you don't mine me asking what was the water temperature, I have 4 days off and may try and sneak a trip in. I have never fish the fly in this warm a water usually fish it in mid to low 40s but have been told by more than few on here I have been missing out.

If Cumberland is still in the 50* range smallmouth and Ky's have been on a jig bite in 10 - 20 feet on black shell banks.
I think it works just fine in the 50s. I've done better at that temp than around 40. Of course, I'm not very good at fishing, either. The trip I described above is pretty good for us.
Water temp was mid 50s.
Maybe my post of the water temp was invisible, LOL...
Michael this time of year at the big C soak that jig as Rustedhook said. Also the crankbait bite can be fantastic this time of year as well. When the water temps hit 50 or below fnf will rule the day. Not trying to be a know it all just giving you food for thought bro.
I heard from a buddy of mine that has been on Cumberland the last couple of weeks that it is turning over now. just throwing that out there, for whats it worth.

Thanks Ron I will probably take it all anyway, what works best right now on jigs, rubber or hair.

What area were they fishing, I was told once that this lake is so big that it that doesn't turn offer at the same time. Like the creeks turn before the main like does.
